David Baur

David Baur

David Baur´s former fellow student, Matthias Reinholdt, who also shared a workshop with him, aptly describes his works:

“In my role as external reviewer, I can only confirm with emphasis that David Baur is an artist who sabotages the collective craze of wanting to explain the world by means of his holistic-performative approach in a soothing manner. This subversiveness seems to become most tangible in Baur´s painting. But still, his boards only develop their auratic power as icons of human activity in the context of sand bags and weapon emplacements. The activity is not judged but only acknowledged, aesthetically reproduced and in this way made portable.”
