Mathias Köhler aka Loomit

Mathias Köhler aka Loomit

In 1983, the then 15-year-old received his first information about the Hip-Hop-Movement in New York which in turn inspired him to illegally paint the water tower in Buchloe.  His mother is providing the spray cans and his piece is covered in the local press. Inspired by this first success, other pieces are following.  The move to Munich is expanding his horizon as there are already several other artists painting in the city.  After the first court procedures in 1984, the alias Loomit is used for the first time.  The following years and decades are characterised by various inspiring journeys and an increasing legalisation of his art.
