Nicolaj Dudek

Nicolaj Dudek

Frankfurt artist Nicolaj Dudek is a virtuoso talent who works with a multitude of materials – charcoal, wax crayon, pencil, ink or watercolour on paper and punched card. He also works with gouache on magazine pages. And with a stapler gun on walls, plasterboard and wood. His artistic repertoire also includes sculptures, installations, photographs and videos.

  • 2000: Diploma in Visual Communication at the Offenbach Academy of Art and Design in Germany
  • 1999: MA in Print Graphics at the Winchester School of Art, UK and MHI Reykjavik, Iceland
  • 1989: Geology degree at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University in Frankfurt


  • 2003: Bursary from the Cultural Fund of the City of Salzburg, Austria
  • 2000-2001: Visual Arts work scholarship from the German federal state of Hessen
  • 1997-1998: SOCRATES/ERASMUS grant, EU
  • 1997-1999: Grant from the Johannes-Mosbach Foundation, Offenbach, Germany


  • 2004: Recognition Award at the International Artists’ Competition at the State Garden Show in Nordhausen, 2004, Germany
  • 1996: First prize in the competition to design a paintshop factory in Rüsselsheim, Adam-Opel AG, Rüsselsheim, Germany (with Sebastian Schirmer)
