At the beginning of the 1960s he trained as a chef and set out on a journey around the globe of many years duration, plying his trade as he went. Between 1970 and 1983 he owned and ran several different restaurants until, at the highpoint of his career, he made a complete change of direction.

At 14 years of age he felled his first tree with a chainsaw, destroying his neighbour’s Mercedes in the process. What for others might have been reason to find a new hobby was for him a motive to really let rip. Of one thing he was absolutely certain: he could do better. And he really could do it.

His mother is providing the spray cans and his piece is covered in the local press. Inspired by this first success, other pieces are following. The move to Munich is expanding his horizon as there are already several other artists painting in the city. After the first court procedures in 1984, the alias Loomit is used for the first time. The following years and decades are characterised by various inspiring journeys and an increasing legalisation of his art.

Nowadays, he is trying to find a perfect mixture between typography and figurative elements. Since about 5 years, he is using an increasing variety of different tools and materials beside spray cans for the creation of his art (acrylic and wall paints, markers, spray bottles, adhesive tape, etc.). His love for graphic design and a balanced, clean and detailed image structure is reflected very strongly in his work.
